Its difficult to say who is whose friend. First there was rumor that Yahoo is joining hands with Microsoft to oust Google from its peak position. So, you would think Yahoo and Microsoft are anti Google. But no, in business there is no foe, there is no friend. Now there are talks that Yahoo may outsource its search to Google. Financially it may seem possible, but strategically its difficult to see Yahoo and Google on single frame. Yahoo becoming a partner of Google? I find it hard to believe.
Just how important is search to Yahoo. It only makes sense if Yahoo on the line of AOL becomes a media company and makes its search function less strategic. But the question is will Yahoo afford to take such step? Whatever is Google today is because of the search engine, don't they know that.
