
This outsourcing practice may cost GAP a lot of bad press. In the recent times GAP has actively tried to portray itself as an ethical company. But the unveiling of sweatshop labor in India will only add fuel to anti-GAP lobby. Earlier today, as many as 10 children were found working in a textile factory in India
which produces clothes for GAP kids. UK newspaper The Observer's journalist has found that kids there slog for long hours amidst threats and beatings.
GAP however has washed its hand by saying that the management is unaware of the incident as the original contract was illegally subcontracted to a sweatshop. GAP says it would investigate the matter
