Good news for Halifax. The city has been ranked as number 35th on the list of top 50 emerging outsourcing cities of the world. The trade publication Global Services has created the list and put Halifax just ahead of Baguio City, Philippines, and immediately after, Accra, Ghana.
Halifax with the placement on the list has reinforced its position as the 
top outsourcing location in North America for the information technology and business processing services. At present names like RIM, CGI, Keane, xWave have set up their center in the city.
The study has envisaged that from now onwards a location or a city will be considered important only for the specialized services that it will offer. The report says more than countries, now cities with specific skill sets will be ahead of others in clinching big deals.
