Software company HCL Technologies has signed a multi-year outsourcing contract with Hercules Inc, a leading manufacturer and marketer of specialty chemicals. Under this multi region contract HCL will offer its IT infrastructure management across data center, network, IT security, desktop and help desk services. The size of the contract however was not disclosed to the media.
HCL has already completed first phase of enabling (and transitioning too) certain IT operations and is presently managing the most of the live operations of Hercules' IT
infrastructure in the US and then gradually move to other places. In Europe, the transition of add on infrastructural support will start next month.
After the transition phase is over, the collaborative co-sourcing arrangement comprising of approximately 60 per cent offshore and 40 per cent on-site work distribution which will ensure 24X7 availability of Hercules’ IT operations.
