Mobile phone company O2 may not be very generous this time while sacking its employees, like the last time, earlier this year when it made 100 positions redundant and offered them generous packages. O2 Ireland has announced that it would axe as many as 450 positions in two different phases. The first phase will see 230 employees moving to IBM while in second phase, as it is currently on negotiation stage, 220 staff will join Ericsson. The right sizing movement will make the headcount of O2 Ireland reduced to 1,200.
