Its Saawariya vs Om Shanti Om. Its Sony Pictures vs Shahrukh Khan's Production. Well, both the groups are fighting it hard to win the box office battle to be unveiled in November 9. But Sony seems to be a bit on the upper side as far as production values are concerned, remember this one is Hollywood's Sony Picture's first Indian production. Rumors are rife that Sony leaving no stone unturned to make this a success, rumors are rife, it has outsourced marketing strategists and post production guys from Hollywood.

Sony also has stakes in Imageworks, which handles special effects for Sony live-action films and films from rival movie studios. Imagworks recently employed 85 workers in India.

You have the brands who have associated with it and they bring their own media buying to enhance what we are doing. No way that it should be taken our spend that is this is not our core spend on our film. What I’m really concerned with our core spend with our film and it is no where out of whack what any other film would be doing and in fact it might be a little lower. So we have not gone out of on a limp and thrown away money irresponsibly.

In response Shahrukh as usual plays underdog (which he has been portraying in umpteenth films)

I don’t have Rs 30-40 crore to promote my film. But I’m competing against the international giant; would you help me make my film also count?

Industry estimates that Om Shanti Om has already made a profit of 45 crores on the tables by selling music rights, overseas rights etc.  

 

The neck to neck fight is to grab max to max to eyeballs and mindshares. So, when Saawariya ties up with the Future Group for a special range of Saawariya merchandise, SRK and Om Shanti Om, hurriedly makes plan to walk on the ramps for Future Group's rival firm, Shoppers Stop.When OSO team turns up at Zee SaReGaMaPa Challenge, Sawariya  guys make a visit to Star for Voice of India  at Star Plus.
