
Philippines has already established itself on the outsourcing arena. And now its time to go to the next level while wiping off the external hindrances. Philippines outsourcing industry mostly known for its call centers, will look further how it can expand into more high value services like HR, finance, accounting and software development.
Inquirer writes President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is set to unveil an industry roadmap for the country's outsourcing sector, which details how the industry plans to achieve its $12-billion revenue target by 2010.
Arroyo is scheduled to attend an industry gathering by the Business Processing Association of the Philippines (BPA/P) on November 5. She is expected to present the report, according to Trade and Industry secretary Peter Favila.
BPA/P has contracted the services of research and consulting firm McKinsey and Co. in crafting the roadmap, which will be presented in next month's event.
