Outsourcing sales resource is imperative to make an inroad into diversification without investing a moolah. It's quick fix solution and as per a published report the solution gives instant boost to organizations. Through sales service outsourcing the industry earned revenue of $14 billion in 2006 and estimates to earn $50 billion by 2011.
Business Week states that 11% of US business is run through sales process outsourcing.
Nice optimistic data there. I only wonder what is the percentage of sales process outsourcing that actually go offshore. If I am not mistaken, productivity of these processes are abysmally low in countries like India and Philippines. But on the basis of scale they get the bottom line. For example, agents make 275-350 cold calls on average in a day, the turnaround percentage is not more than 0.75%-1.25%. Not a bad thing at all, after all 400-500 agents make on average 300 calls a day. The labor is cheap too. Both parties happy, bottom lines are met.
