Do you remember Kareena Kapoor debuted with Abhishek Bachchan in 'Refugee' in the year 2000? I dont know whether you will agree with me or not, shelf life (life on screen) of heroines has gone down drastically in recent years, gone are the days of Madhubala, Meenakumari, Hemamalini Rekha, Sridevi or even Madhuri Dikshit when they used to rule for decades. Now once a heroine is 4-5 years old, she is labeled as veteran.

Karina Kapur to increase her shelf life has paired herself with Shahid Kapoor, who is 4-5 years younger to her and debuted in 2003 with Ishq Vishk. The whole love drama is fake. (The MMS is real...ala Indian 'modified' Paris Hilton). Now that they have been (supposedly) lovers, they got more media attention and also more attention from newer generation. Because of her pairing with a younger guy she also looked more fresh (or less aged) on silver screen. (All older heroines do such tricks, Sridevi acted opposite Salman Khan, Madhuri with Akshay Khanna, Sanjay Kapoor, Meenakumari with Dharmendra, and above all, Karisma with Abhishek etc.)
Strategy failed, Shahid-Kareena more talked about for MMS than movies
Both of them have been paired in films like Fida, 36 China Town, Chup Chup Ke, but did not able to create a sensation as pair. Fida and 36 China Town flopped miserably, Chup Chup Ke, a semihit and a multi starrer, they were not the lead pairs in anyway.
Kareena shunned her ego, friendly with Karan Johar
Now Kareena has grabbed some good projects, she has also repaired damaged relationship with key people, for example, Karan Johar. Johar was upset with Kareena because she showed attitude (which she always does) and refused to lower her price and did not take part in one of his films, probably Kal Ho Na Ho. But now Kareena has pampered Karan Johar so much so that Karan has become friends with Kareena again. I remember reading in Filmfare that both of them spent lot of time together in Karan Johar's private van. Your guess is as god as mine. Don't underestimate Karan Johar, The man (???) of substance also needs change (I mean versatile that he is, doing TV shows, coming on front pages of Indian editions of foreign magazines, appearing in paint ad with Kareena etc.)

She has bagged 'Tashan' from just single Saif Ali Khan. She is also paired with Saif Khan in Roadside Romeo. Thats not all, with Saif Khan, Kareena is also doing Vishal Bharadwaj's Mr. Mehta & Mrs. Singh.
What it means, Kareena is having three projects with Saif Ali Khan. And having one film, 'Jab We Met' with Shahid, and going by the box office records of both of them, no producer will like to cast Shahid-Kareena together if the film bombs. .
What is the bottom line
If Jab We Met becomes a flop Shahid Kapur and Kareena Kapoor will break up.
If Jab We Met becomes a hit, Shahid Kapur and Kareena Kapoor may again start seeing each other (or act together) on radio, TV, internet, newspapers, mms etc.

huh.........isnt it freakin...from the very beginnin of their relationship karina n shaheed ddnt look nice together.....but jus frm last few months (after seein them 2gether in coffe with karan n in other events....here n thr...)they started lookin "normal"(or u may term "ok") as a couple....n it ws nice 2 see the chages in arrogant karina......she ws bein polite n nice(ofcourse the credit goes to shaheed)....but look wat she is endin up doin....ditchin shaheed...but thats not her fault i guess.....this is the tradition she is bearin frm her very own family...karisma n her mom babita is a clear instance...first they hook up with younger boys then ditch them n marry some dumb divorced buisness man.
