With Verizon Voyager can LG beat Apple iPhone? Does not look like
It makes a good business sense to create a product slightly different than the monopolistic competitor/trend setter (which already have paved the way, created buzz, captured editorial and blog space and mind share) along wiht features, some of which are similar and some new (after getting the lesson from the first mover's mistakes) and dishing out to the users.

LG Electronics is taking on Apple Inc's iPhone with its 'The Voyager' release thisVerizon-Voyager-LG-Apple-iPhone festive seasons (probably mid-November). The Voyager has faster wireless Web access. Voyager will also sport a small computer keypad (certainly a go go stuff for those who were put off by iPhone's lack of a traditional keypad) plus a second screen. It also has extensive multimedia and e-mail capabilities.

The Voyager will connect to Verizon Wireless' latest data network, providing speeds much higher than the AT&T network the iPhone uses. The Voyager also has direct access to Verizon Wireless' online music store. Link

Verizon Voyager may not be as sexy and sleek (and media darling) like Apple iPhone but it will be cheaper (around $250) and will have more friendly QWERTY keyboard.

Who will get what market share, time will tell. Some Verizone users who do not want to change service providers, will go for it + some iPhone haters + some advertising vulnerables, but probably, not beyond that. Going by the loyal user base, it sems Apple one nil against LG-Verizon combo as of now. Till the time LG-Verizon creates a storm with word of mouth.
