Google had pushed for US operators to open up access to their network by successfully lobbying the US government to make that a requirement for companies bidding for some wireless airwaves in an upcoming spectrum auction reports Reuters.

This move from Verizon can be considered as an about face by the conservative US phone service providers who have been infamous for keeping control of their devices, customers use to share revenues.

I hope it won’t be early to jump into the conclusion that Google has pocked the big bad cat with style.
