There are fears that Legal & General, a financial company will chuck off 120 jobs as it has decided to outsource part of its in-house IT functions
The employees of the said department have been informed by the management that they are no longer required after January. The jobs will be outsourced to a new local firm where these employees will be absorbed in a different role.
The employees have been asked by the management not to talk to press.
There are also fears amongst employees that their pension may not be transferred to the new company.
The company spokesperson said the management has not taken any decision as of now but it is looking at more effective ways to deliver values to its customers.
The group's call-centres will remain in the UK, and it is thought that "research and development" roles are the most likely to be targeted. Source
