The Business Angle
The business process is pretty simple here. Shahrukh and Farha keeping rural and multiplex+NRI viewers in mind have dished out Om Shanti Om (OSO), so you have the ingredients served in equal proportions throughout the movie. The movie also tries to reach out to fans of yesteryear stars, thanks to one song performance by 31 stars of Bollywood.
Technically sound, editing superb
Om Shanti Om is technically a sound movie, Farha's hubby Sirish Kunder, one of the renowned editors of the industry today (and post Jaaneman, I really respect this man) is editing his wife's film just like her previous one with Shahrukh, Main Hoon Na. The movie supposedly has also outsourced some technical work to London.
Music plays 24*7, has to be good
Music is good and successfully spans across two decades. But as we have been showered with OSO promos for last couple of months in literally every communication channels, its obvious that we will start liking the songs. You simply can not escape them, from news channels (how ridiculous Indian news channels are, SRK's walk on the ramp is also described as Breaking News. LOL) to where not.
Story

The movie, Om Shanti Om revolves around Om Kapoor (Shahrukh Khan), who is a struggling actor from seventies. Om Kapoor is a big fan of ShantiPriya (Deepika Padukone), the superstar. Om while acting as an extra falls in love with Shanti. But soon Om realized that Shanti loves someone else. But that man has evil intentions. Following some strong incidents both Shanti and Om die. 30 years later, with six pack to flaunt, SRK is a big star, meets Sandy aka Shanti. Now, Om recalls the murder of his early life and joins hand with Shanti to solve the mystery.
What lies inside the movie, Om Shanti Om
There is nothing new in the story. (Lifted from Karz (Bollywood)+Chances Are (Hollywood). SRK tries to act albeit different, but as always more than 'Om the character' he is The SRK here, his usual hamming continues, everything is over the top, from lighting to screenplay to dialog. In Shahrukh's movie you will never find a 'dark' moment, I mean his face always gets maximum amount of light from 360 degrees. There is no shades whatsoever, only lights. Thus giving him a stage to ham (my favorite is that scene, some Karan Johar movie, where Preity Zinta looks on, Saif cornered and Shahrukh keeps on reading some imaginary diary while clearly indicating that he is SACRIFYCING, all lights, no shades)
Shahrukh's Six Pack, real or instant solution, Liposuction?
Six pack proposition is an instant hit thanks to media. Liposuction or not, Shahrukh looks good, but not without props. Either he is hiding under a full sleeve or wearing coal-mine cap for the desired effect. I think he did not look 'strong and cool' bare chested like Salman and John Abraham, so he had to take shelter under these additional stuff. Also, we would like to see, how Shah Rukh maintains his six pack from now onwards because Salman in one of the interviews said more than making, its difficult to maintain such abs for long.
The film is a hit
But, as they say, nothing succeeds like success. The movie is an instant hit. Advance booking has broken previous Diwali records. All the hard work from the OSO team is paying off. If you don't expect cinematic excellence from cinema, you should rush to the nearest theater for the dose of entertainment this Diwali.
The theatre where I watched the movie was 100% occupied. The theatre is housefull for next 22 shows. Including late night and early morning shows.
Arjun Rampal rocks
Arjun Rampal looks like Greek God. He looked awesome in Don also. He is too good. Stupid girls, more than the paper tiger, you should watch the movie for this dude. Remember, good things in life comes in small packages. And guys, Depika Padukone is a revelation. She is an ittem rey. Haan...fillm mein shahrukh vi hain, the media manager of the movie.
Guys, go and watch Indian production like Om Shanti Om, and not Saawariyan, from one wicked Hollywood production house.
Shahrukh is more popular in Pakistan, Morocco than India follwed by United Arab Emirates.
