Philippines: $7.9mln Govt fund for call center training

Ahh...that's a dream news for all the guys and gals who dream of getting into a call center but can not do so due to their less employability matrix. Look at this news

Philippine President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has ordered the allocation of 350 million (7.9 million U.S. dollars) official fund for training 70,000 call center workers seeking jobs in the country's business outsourcing industry, reported the official Philippines News Agency Wednesday.

Arroyo made the decision at a launching ceremony for the book "Offshoring and Outsourcing Philippines: Roadmap 2010" by the Business Processing Association of the Philippines (BPAP) in Makati City Monday. Link

One must have to admit people in Philippines are far more serious to make a career in the call center than say western part of the world. People lacking in requisite skills work extra hard, graduates from interiors of the country move to Metro Manila, where many big outsourcing centers are located.
