Prudential, UK’s second largest insurer has signed an outsourcing agreement with Capita. As per the deal, 3000 jobs in UK and 1,250 in India would be transferred to Capita PLC,

The announcement came after eight month review done by Prudential management. Earlier, the management has informed media that a major restructuring is on the offing as it wants to save £195 million a year within three years to help the under-performing UK arm.       

Capita has said that it would employ al the employees affected. But its still not clear how it would accommodate the Indian positions. Does it have a center in India? Also, in UK,  I am not sure to keep their job whether Prudential employees have to move to another cities or not.

Prudential's union Unite called the outcome a "positive development" for staff.

"Unite will be pressing for a commitment from Capita of no compulsory redundancies," said Graham Goddard, Unite's deputy general secretary.

"We would envisage that redeployment opportunities and career prospects should be brighter in Capita, which is a growing business." Source
