Silicon Valley VCs keen to invest in non-IT start ups

Rupee appreciation against US dollar and India’s booming domestic market along with some sort of stagnancy in the IT-BPO market led the bunch of Silicon Valley venture capitalists to invest in areas like specialty retail, financial services, media & entertainment and healthcare services, informs The Economic Times.

What could be reason behind such shift to non BPO-IT space?India-silicon-valley-angel-investor

Canaan India executive director Alok Mittal said, “VCs are adjusting themselves to invest in India. Firms which are more technology & consumer internet led or focused on mid to late-stage investments in the US and Europe, are eyeing either growth-stage or late-stage tech firms or different sectors in the country.”
