The Guardian reports Louis Gallois, CEO of Airbus parent company EADS said, “A part of the European aeronautical and space industry is threatened by the evolution of the dollar and I think this is a problem with a political dimension."

There are reports that Airbus may construct a new assembling plant in the State of Alabama.

Roughly 50pc of Airbus's production and component work takes place in core Europe and Britain, but its order book of 8,019 aircraft are based on dollar contracts. The group's currency hedges are gradually running out. It is unclear whether it is able to build any of its major aircraft at a profit.

What it strategically means, the management will be able to manufacture/assemble aircrafts in that same currency in which they are sold—The US Dollar.
