Atos Origin wins Highways Agency contract

By beating heavyweight rivals like Fujitsu, HP and LogicaCMG, not so huge outsourcing firm Atos Origin has bagged a five year outsourcing of support contract with the Highways Agency (HA). The deal is worth £75m. Highways Agency operates control centers across UK’s road network and presently have more than 100 contracts on the go. HAQ hopes by roping in Atos Origin will result in saving of 15% IT budget. Atos will provide management, desktop, infrastructure and application support to Highway’s IT systems. Atos-Origin-Highways-Agency-logo-outsourcing-deals

The human resource and knowledge transition between the two companies are expected to be completed by March 2008. Some 120 staffs from HA will move to Atos for the process.
