World’s largest retailer, Wal-Mart plans to increase its IT outsourcing activity in India. Though, it is not known to what extent they will try to strengthen their IT related work, but it is believed that the order would be would of high value. The size of the contract could be not less than a billion dollar. Couple of Indian IT heavyweights is already believed to be having placed their bid. Infosys and Congnizant are in the race. No news has been confirmed from any of the organizations.
Wal-Mart, however, has asked Infosys to define the business and technology strategy for the global e-commerce business.
WalMart also sources It services and solutions from many India software companies.
