
Deutsche Post has confirmed the news that it would outsource the database and administration of its data centers to Hewlett-Packard (HP). The outsourcing agreement between these two companies is expected to be finalized by this summer. It is believed that Deutsche Post will be able to save at least one billion euros over the next seven years from this outsourcing agreement. As per the agreement, HP will
be absorbing approximately 2500 employees at the data centers. In addition, all the applications that customers of Deutsche Post will deploy will be developed in-house, the German major will develop IT security standards and their implementation as well.
