Over last one year and more Tata Motors was planning to launch world’s cheapest car for approximately $2,500 or Rs. 1, 00,000 in Indian currency. Tata Nano is launched today at a Delhi auto expo. It is believed that, this $2,500 car will not only entirely change the Indian auto market but also hugely impact global auto industry. Many feel, it will open up a new opportunity for original equipment manufacturers in India and rest assured they will try their best to lure foreign accounts on this ground. Yes, I am talking about outsourcing here.

Nano, Tata Motors' Rs 1,00,000 "people's car" unveiled at the Auto Expo 2008 in New Delhi on Thursday will help the common man shift from two-wheelers to four-wheelers, Commerce Minister Kamal Nath said.

"This is a proud moment for India. It demonstrates India's technological and entrepreneurial ability," Kamal Nath told reporters on Thursday.

"It fulfils the need of the common Indian who aspires to move from a two-wheeler to a four-wheeler," he added.
